E3 2011: 3DS Mario Kart, Star Fox, Super Mario, Kid Icarus due this holiday

Nintendo announces upcoming 3D-enabled series entries are all due by the end of this year.

LOS ANGELES--Today during Nintendo's E3 2011 media briefing, the Japanese game giant talked at length about its 3DS efforts, culminating in announcements of release windows for Super Mario 3D, Star Fox 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Mario Kart 3D.

First, Nintendo showed a new trailer for Mario Kart 3D, which displayed a "holiday 2011" release window for the kart racer. In addition to the date, the trailer showed new series additions, including hang-gliding karts, underwater racing, and big tire vehicles.

The Japanese game giant also dated Star Fox 3D for the 3DS, announcing it will be released sometime this September. Also during Nintendo's press presentation, the game giant showed a new trailer for Super Mario 3D and announced that it will be released "by the end of 2011."

At E3 2010, Nintendo announced Kid Icarus: Uprising. And at today's media briefing, the company showed a new trailer for the game, displaying three-on-three multiplayer matches. Kid Icarus: Uprising for the 3DS will ship "later this year."

    Just the title that had "Star Fox" got me excited. And hopefully, Nintendo would give us a new experience with a new Mario games. Super Mario Galaxy was very fun to play.

    I was much impressed with the line up of upcoming 3DS just as much as the update that came this week i'm using the browser right now.

    Irrational was such a tease! I thought for sure that there was going to be a Bioshock Infinite announcement for Wii U, but I'm sure there's plenty of time to tell...

    That is a hell of a lineup, the 3rd party screwed up by not having big games available at launch, now Nintendo is bringing an onslaught, starting with OoT.

    DeViLzzz was already spreading hate during Nintendo conference. now he has to continue and insult everyhing Nintendo does. Anyways! I was hoping to see something like Mario Galaxy but this is nothing like it imo .but that doesnt mean i am dissapointed cause if its Mario game it just has to be awesome.

    @DeViLzzz It's about as creative as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Halo 4, Little Big Planet 2...you know, any game with a SEQUEL that choose to put a number after it's title. *rolls eyes* Your blatant trolling and hating is so ridiculous, it makes ME want a barf bag...

    We need something for the 3DS for summertime, other than Zelda. One good game isnt going to move a ton of stock.

    Now I question whether Nintendo will lower the 3DS price to make it more affordable than the Vita. With this lineup it doesn't seem likely...

    The 3DS first party presentation was phenomenal. Loved every bit of it.
