E3 2011: King of Fighters XIII hitting Xbox 360, PS3 this year
Atlus announces holiday launch for latest installment in SNK Playmore's long-running line of team-based brawlers.
LOS ANGELES--It's nearly time to name another King of Fighters, as Atlus today confirmed that it will be publishing the latest entry in SNK Playmore's long-running three-on-three fighting franchise. King of Fighters XIII is set to debut in North America this holiday season on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The first installment in the series since King of Fighters XII rebuilt it from the ground up in 2009, King of Fighters XIII will expand the roster from 22 characters to more than 30. Among the additions will be fan favorite Mai, as well as King, Vice, K', Yuri, Maxima, and more. Atlus is also promising faster fights, new moves, and a "vastly improved" online mode.
This will be Atlus' first time handling publishing duties for the series. King of Fighters XII was published by Ignition, while previous installments were released by SNK Playmore itself.
