I love that Nintendo is giving me so many games to return to my Wii after not playing it for so long.

I was skeptical of Nintendo once again.

Then I got to 29:28 in the video.

And I was all "HOLY ****!!!!!"

Absolutely fantastic. Nintendo just kept delivering and delivering. From amazing game announcements to the 3DS, Kirby to Goldeneye, and most of all Zelda Skyward Sword. Although a disappointing showcase of the game, The press conference was absolutely flawless. And what better way to end an amazing conference? About a 100 women coming down the show floor and showcasing the 3DS.

Well Done, Nintendo. I have restored faith that you'll continue to domniate the market with nostalgic and new experiences.

    9.5/10 rating

i personally didn't like the zelda demo because it looked like it was using motion control too much therefore when it would mess up it wouldn't look that good........ its just an opinion so don't start saying u suck its just what i think about it

Nintendo is and will be ever the spearhead of entertainment, even if there are greater companies, nintendo determined the way the games are played

Nintendo could easily sell 3D for the Wii, but they think a little bit further than Sony, that is only 0,5% of the PS3 owners will be able to afford a 3D TV and glasses which means it'll be a complete failure and it will go off the market pretty damn fast if not instantly.

For those knocking Miyamoto's demo of Zelda, I saw another vid on here or at another sight of the game being demo'd, and it controlled perfectly. It really looked like it was amazing to control.

I've been looking forward to the next Zelda game since Twilight Princess, but I really don't like the idea of motion control being the only control. I couldn't stand having to flail my arms around to fight in TP, so I prefered the gamecube version much more. And I'm sure the game is early in production and the Wii motion+ helps, but after seeing that, it does not look very accurate. I hope they have multiple control schemes. I don't have very high hopes this time around, to say the least.

Microsoft came out with motion sensor which is a bit better than 3D to be honest. But Wii would blow PS3 out of the water if they came out with 3D first.

  • Boom_Flame

I think Microsoft should step out of their non-3D bubble and stop thinking that there is no 3D market. If Nintendo can bring something so revolutionary to the handheld (something that Microsoft does not have, and something the PSP looks like it will be inferior to), that 3D market will be theirs to control.

Aside from the Wii's bugs in the Zelda demonstration, this conference, for me at least, blew away the other two. The Move is expensive just to have for oneself, nevermind trying to get a party of four people in the same room. It has promise, but I don't even have a PS3 yet, and dishing out so much money to get the PS3 and its controllers as WELL as the Move and its controllers is just too much all up front. Kinect on the other hand doesn't have any mind-blowing games that have been developed for it (yet, I hope) and there seemed to be a lack, in numbers, of truly innovative, new features (though the ones they do have seem very appealing and convenient).

The 3DS revealing didn't just set the bar, it also pushed it far away. Microsoft has not even invested into 3D technology yet. The PS3 has, but only in the form of expensive 3D TVs and glasses, with the former being downsized to a handheld and the latter being eliminated altogether.

Nintendo, all the power to you.

mongoose, the Wii's graphics aren't "painfully weak", they are worst than the PS3 or Xbox, but then both these consoles look horrible compared to PC titles on good detail. Link is styilized and has always been so, if you don't like it, that's your opinion. Move is just a rip-off of the wiimote.

  • hoganms

    Posted Jun 30, 2010 8:59 pm PT

Goldeneye...Finally, my Wii will stop collecting dust. Hmmm, I wonder if it still works?

  • mongoose90

    Posted Jun 30, 2010 8:54 am PT

Zislu, Miyamoto wasn't the one who failed. The Wii-mote failed, but I agree with your point about gameplay. However, I think it important to recognize that games are not just "play" they are also art, and as art, they should be beautiful, and you can only go so far with that when you have weak hardware.

  • Zislu

    Posted Jun 30, 2010 6:33 am PT

Lol, mongoose90, even though Miyamoto failed on stage the new Zelda will sell more than any other Playstation or Xbox game ever have :-) And like you said, Wii has weak graphics, but as we all know graphics have NOTHING to do with the gameplay, and thats why Nintendo has sold more than Xbox 360 and Ps3 combined. They dont need graphics and they dont need to give away free Xbox'es to people in order to get them to play.

    Miyamoto for life

  • mongoose90

OMG!! Where'd they find 100,000 hot blonde girls to carry around their 3ds?!!!?!

  • mongoose90

A lot of nervous laughing on that Zelda demonstration... annnnd I can see why. The poor developer himself couldn't play the game. Wish that was on the PS3 because there were a lot of awesome IDEAS and it would have actually WORKED with Moves. On the other hand, PS3s evil henchmen may have been jamming the signaling

However, I DO (sort of) love how the painfully weak Wii graphics are forcing developers to get creative. Eye candy isn't for everyone, I guess. But creativity is definitely here in spades.

i love this conference but does anybody else notice that in the zelda vid that miyamoto is wearing high heels?

  • GSTom11

    Posted Jun 29, 2010 5:14 pm PT

It looks like I'll be playing 3D games on the move with the 3DS and then playing 3D games at home on a 50'' screen with my PS3. Both 3D experiences should be awesome. And for those thinking about selling their wii for a ps3, you should simply save up for the ps3 so you can have both and all their awesome exclusives. Xbox has some work to do.

It is obvious Nintendo are 2 steps ahead of the others, they are making a 3D (3DS) handheld before the others, they used motion sensing first, They even started producing games first out of those 3, they may not have the best graphics but they're good enough, plastation and Xbox try to do better than Nintendo but they fail miserably.

I knew from the start that Wii sucked, but wireless interference?
Also the graphics in games... they are barely better than PS2, maybe a equivalent. There is also an emulator dor Wii, i mean if a PC can emulate it than i have nothing more to say.
I fell sorry for Wii buyers.
