Lego Harry Potter: 1-4 takes flight in 2010

E3 2009: WBIE and TT Games team with J.K. Rowling's boy wizard on building-block adaptation based on first four books in acclaimed franchise.

LOS ANGELES--Last week, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed the first part of a rumor that initially surfaced in March, saying that TT Games was at work on Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues. Today, the second half of that rumor became a reality when WBIE announced Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4, a building-block-based adaptation of J.K. Rowling's famed first novels in the Harry Potter franchise.

TT Games will be crafting the Lego-infused game, having also handled other Lego mash-ups such as the Lego Star Wars series and Lego Batman. WBIE did not say on which platforms Lego Harry Potter: 1-4 would be released, and had not responded to requests for additional information as of press time.

Lego Harry Potter: 1-4 will focus on the nascent years of the Hogwarts crew, following the titular hero and newly jaundiced friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, in addition to other characters from the franchise. According to WBIE, gamers will be afforded a chance to attend classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as well as engage in other wizardly activities such as casting spells, mixing potions, and flying on broomsticks.

Commenting on more general gameplay elements, WBIE senior vice president of development and production Samantha Ryan said, "The game is geared for players to experience a good mix of puzzle-solving gameplay with exploration and battle in some of the most beloved Harry Potter environments, plus a few other surprises."

Lego Harry Potter: 1-4 is currently scheduled for release in 2010.

To the people who say, "Uggh! Not another Lego game." Either you haven't tried playing one to see how fun they are (I highly recommend Lego Star Wars: the complete series) because you think they're just for kids, or you're just closed minded to the concept. Don't buy them then, no one's forcing you.
Like Mom used to say, "Try it, you'll like it."

Lego Star Wars is one of my guilty pleasures and our family LOVES Harry Potter. What made the SW games better than the others was the use of Force powers. We should have just as much fun using magic. Can't wait

Is there any story that they won't eventually make into a LEGO game? Haha. Not to say that the LEGO games aren't fun to play through..

    OMG
I almost died when I saw this !!!
I was hoping that WB will make game like this, but I never thought that this would become reality !!!
I hope that one of the next Lego games will be Lego LotR, since all rights for videogomes are owned by WB...
