Golden Sun DS Nintendo Press Conference Trailer Impressions

Nintendo teases us with a short trailer for the upcoming role-playing game sequel.

Golden Sun for the Game Boy Advance and its sequel offered some of the finest role playing available for the system. Today, Nintendo announced Golden Sun DS at its E3 2009 press conference and showed off some unmercifully brief footage in trailer form. Even though we know next to nothing about this upcoming role-playing game, we were still excited to get glimpses of what we can look forward to when it is released.

The trailer showed various quick-cutting scenes and began as the camera panned across the landscape. “The Sun Rises Again” splashed across the screen, and we saw glimpses of crystal-infused mountains, as well as dragons fighting across the Nintendo DS's multiple screens. In another moment, a female character flew through the skies on a gleaming winged horse while bright arrows rained down from above. Could there be a dragon versus Pegasus battle in the works? We can only hope!

We'll have to wait awhile before Golden Sun DS arrives on store shelves: It will be released in 2010. Until then, GameSpot will bring you information on this welcome sequel for the Nintendo DS as it becomes available.

    "Could there be a dragon versus Pegasus battle in the works? We can only hope!" ...Really? Who is "we"? I certainly don't hope for any dragon vs. pegasus battles. Who writes this garbage?

    I played the first Golden Sun on emulator. Sadly, the save file has been deleted. Then I borrowed The Lost Age and a GBA so I can play outside my home and not worry about the files being deleted. I eventually had to return it and I was left with nothing but experience from such a great game!! That was 6 years ago. This time I'll save and buy my own system and game =D

    man cant believe it, looking foward to this sooooo badly, and come on gamespot dragons vs pegasus? study the game then say idiotic things like that i mean the arrows thorwn were just alike atalantas summon and of course the dragon was eclipse what else they will say.¨ omg look a piramid attacking there must be an ancient egipt part in the game¨ give me a break... GOLDEN SUN FTW!!!

    Dragon versus Pegasus ? Seriously ? That must be some of the stupidiest thing I've ever read... I mean, c'mon, SERIOUSLY ?! They're summons.... and sadly anyone who has played Golden Sun knows that.... Anyway great news... I tought the project died years ago... The games were some of the best RPG's I've ever played, challenging me again everytime I replayed them. Awesome !

    I thought they abandoned the whole series....

    Gah...games like this make me wish they would port them on the GBA. PSP owner myself, I'll really hate not playing this, I loved the two GBA games.

    Easily the most anticipated DS title of 2010. What's up with the reviewer though, pegasus vs dragon battle? They were summons, anyone who played the first would have known that. Either way, game will be amazing, I can't wait.

    I first heard about "Golden Sun DS" back in March, but I was also told that the "DS" in that game was gonna stand for "Disigial Soul" but I guess it was'nt finalized. I see great potential for this game as the rise of a new "long" RPG series.

    I think my prayers have been answered. Golden Sun entertained me throughout my middle school years and the sequel was icing on the cake. Finally Nintendo gave this worthy series another edition and it won't go the way of Kid Icarus. Thank you so much Nintendo, this is one of the best decisions you've made in recent years!!!

    it's about time they made another one been waiting for this a longgggggg time. can't wait to see all the new weapons, those weapons in Gs and LA were one of the main things i liked about the game
