Resident Evil relocates to PSP

E3 2009: Capcom brings survival horror to Sony's handheld for first time in new adventure "designed specifically" for PSP Go.

LOS ANGELES--At its E3 media briefing today, Sony detailed a renewed push for its PlayStation Portable, from revamped hardware in the PSP Go (with native video-downloading features) to new games such as Gran Turismo PSP and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. One more piece of news didn't get much real estate in the two-hour press conference that was already stuffed with announcements, but Capcom's Resident Evil Portable marks the long-running survival horror series' first entry created for the PSP.

Not only is the game made for the PSP, but according to Capcom's official Twitter feed, it was also designed "specifically for the PSP Go." Unfortunately, the publisher didn't specify how that differs from designing a game for the standard PSP. Little else is known about the game, but Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Portable will be an all-new adventure rather than a simple port.

Don't rush out to stock up on shotgun shells and Twinkies just yet, given that there's still some time to prepare for the zombie apocalypse. Sony announced the game with a general 2010 release window at its conference, and Capcom's Twitter specified that Resident Evil Portable is still "a ways out."

    Resident Evil for the PSP?
    Okay, you got me hooked. If this is done correctly, It could be one of the best games for the PSP, but this could very well be a disaster. All I know is that I'm hoping for a good one and I've got MY fingers crossed.

    and yea, we want Jill Valentine !! with hotter costume lol, and the most important thing is a great mercenaries mode that contains all or most of the characters and their costumes, Oh god, I am asking too much XD, well we deserve this we waited more than 4 years since the first PSP released with no Resident Evil, so come on capcom do what you HAVE to do not what you want to do

    Nah, the controls must be like Metal gear peace walker, this kind of controls make the player able to switch between 3rd ps, 1st ps and over shoulders !! go try Metal gear peace walker demo then complain me as much as you want

    dont make it like 4 and 5 gameplay, controls would suck, and please dont do an 'mgs acid' kidn of game, that SUCKED. A totally new gameplay and pleeeeeease outbreak style multiplayer pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.

    I hope it will be like RE2or3 cuz RE4and5 are not survival horror they turned into action games without any thing except the characters from the old games ...

    I Can't wait for This to come out. I love the RE Series. I think that this psp one will be amazing, who really cares if the controls aren't amazing. It will make the game even better. I don't see why everyones complaining!

    what the heck, only for the psp go? this makes a big disappointment for owners who own a regular psp. I hope it will be available on the regular psp....

    hope this game is over the shoulder like 4 and 5. the controls should be good. i mean the only problem with whooters on the psp is only one analog stick. resident evil only needs one analog stick.
