Tatsunoko vs. Capcom might go online, add new fighters

E3 2009: Crossover fighting game set for winter launch as publisher explores possibility of adding new characters to both sides, non-local multiplayer.

LOS ANGELES--When Marvel vs. Capcom 2 launches on the Xbox 360 and PS3 this summer, it will do so with the addition of online multiplayer action, a glaring omission in previous console ports of the arcade fighter. Another upcoming crossover brawler from the publisher--Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the Wii--may be in for the same treatment.

Capcom has announced that it is "looking into adding new features to the game, including possible additions of several new characters from both Capcom and Tatsunoko and is exploring the option of online gameplay."

Currently the game has a roster of more than 20 characters pulled from both companies' brands. Capcom is represented by mainstays like Street Fighter's Ryu and Mega Man, while the anime studio Tatsunoko brings Ken from Gatchaman and the cybernetic Casshan.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars is set for a winter release on the Wii in North America. For more on the title and the rest of Capcom's lineup, read GameSpot's pre-E3 previews--and also check out the ongoing coverage of the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

I'm kinda an old school amine freak so I sorta know who the Tatsunoko characters are and what the company is. The most famous amine(here in the states) originally done by them that most people know is Speed Racer(Mach Go Go) and I think speed would fight ok here(call the car for some special moves XD). I'd also like to see Amaterasu from Okami as I think all those brush strokes would be great in an over the top fighter XD

This might be the only game people in America get where they don't know who half of the characters are lol

As long as the gameplay is as awesome as any other previous capcom fighting game, I'm good. I think this game is really for promoting the animation studio's anime to North American audiences. Tatsunoko anime owns, can't wait to play as casshern.

I'm not a big fan of anime so I'll probably skip this. Online looks tempting, though.

sounds like a good game although i say it needs to have a good story mode, since its using allot of anime characters it needs to have animated story clips . if they want us to fork over our hard earned money for this game they should at least put a little extra effort into making a decent story mode. the opening video is fairtl decent quality if the story clips are equal quality to that then i should be happy.

Sorry for the double post but my message was too long. They should have a normal and hard challenge trial like SF4. Those challenges made you get to know that character's combos and let you see what you could change and substitute certain moves in certain combos for different situations. Not only does the challenges give you combos to use but it also inspires you to take those combos and see what else you can do with them. such as combining or taking that combo and tweaking it into your own combo. and the major thing ONLINE. I need online because most of my friends are not fans of street fighter or 2D fighters all together. They are mostly fans of Tekken, Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur. So I need someone else to play, and not just the cpu. These things would be nice to see. but even if they aren't in. I'll buy the game anyway.

The game is already sold in my mind but this stuff would be nice to be featured in this game. Character bios. I'm sure that there are many people out there like me that have no idea who most of this Tatsunoko characters are if any at all, or know what Tatsunoko is. So it would be nice for Capcom to give us some back story on all the characters not just some, so we know more about who we are playing with. Alot and I do mean ALOT, of unlockables. Maybe this is just me, but I am a very competitive person, and when I get a game I want to unlock everything I can in the game. But there should be a good balance in the unlockables. there should be simple ones to get. then there should be some that you would really have to work at to get. such as a high combo challenge. speaking of challenges....Challenges.
