Bryant covers NBA 2K10

E3 2009: 2K Sports announces Lakers MVP shooting guard Kobe Bryant "doing work" just ahead of the NBA Finals, as NBA 2K10's cover star.

LOS ANGELES--The 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo will soon be a fading memory at the Los Angeles Convention Center once the event's third and final day wraps up this afternoon. Tonight, though, it will be a mob scene just a few hundred feet away at the Staples Center, where the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic will face off in game one of the NBA Finals. (Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. PDT.) And just ahead of the series opener, Lakers star shooting guard Kobe Bryant has rung up another accolade in his impressive basketball career: cover star of 2K Sports' upcoming NBA 2K10.

Bryant, a three-time NBA champion with the Lakers, will be officially unveiled as the featured athlete on the cover of NBA 2K10 during a special pregame commercial produced by Spike Lee, who recently produced a documentary on Kobe's career, titled Kobe Doing Work. By the looks of it, the commercial will feature Lee making a case for Kobe to come to New York City to play for the Knicks, even going so far as to show Bryant in a Photoshopped Knicks jersey. 2K Sports will also allow fans to vote on their favorite version of NBA 2K10 on the official Web site. (Unfortunately, the Big Apple Kobe won't be an option.)

This isn't the first game cover appearance for Bryant: The 11-time NBA All Star was featured on the cover of the NBA Courtside series, which briefly appeared on the Nintendo 64 and GameCube. Bryant has also appeared on the cover of Sony's hoops series, most recently alongside the likes of Paul Pierce, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James on the cover of NBA 09: The Inside.

i respect kobe. i disagree with RajBauer thought. the celtics one last year cuz of there defense deffinitly not lucky. lakers r a good team. nd they won this year. would the celtics have one with kg. Mayb but u cant just assume they would or wouldnt because it never happened. be a true sports fan not a sports fanboy.

I hate it when people complain about their team losing. Even if Garnett was fine Boston would not have won they got lucky last year, they only won because Ray Allen could shoot last year and KG was good but if they didn't have one of those the Lakers would have destroyed them and that is what happened this year. Allen sucked and KG got injured so there you go. And no even if Boston made it to the finals the Lakers would have kicked their asses.

God I love it how everybody just attacked me after I said that. I actually don't live in Boston. I live in Washington. Not DC but the state. I have always loved Ray Allen and that is why I love the Celtics. Also I am Irish. What the hell does "your a tool" even mean? I am not gonna argue with because you will never change my feelings about any player(meaning Kobe).

as big as an idiot that GEDBYZ seems to be, i agree with him about the boston part. I'm not a boston fan, i support denver. But KG has so much passion and he brings that team together. With him in the lineup, their defense is unreal. They would have made the finals and it could've gone either way most likely in 7 games. But that didn't happen, so congrats to Kobe for most likely getting a ring without shaq.

@jjwalker9600: If you want to see "Superman" Dwight Howard on the cover then I suggest that you pick up NBA Live 10. Howard is on the cover of that.

@ GEDBYZ: You can't base a teams success off of one player. Even with KG the Celtics still would have lost because they just didn't have it this year. Get over your teams loss and pray that they are better next year. Your such a child for hating a nba player because of some **** that obviously didn't happen, but people believe that it did just to be a hater against Kobe Bryant. Do you have any evidence to back up your reason of this supposed rape. NO you don't!!!!! Neither did the prosecutor in court. So stick to what you know. 1. Kobe is a great player no matter what anyone says. 2. Boston sucks. 3. You're a tool

Have people forgotten how is Kobe Bryant? The youngest player to start an NBA game at 18 years, 158 days old. The youngest player to start an NBA All-Star game at 19 years, 175 days old. The youngest NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Champion at 18 years, 175 days old. At that time Kobe was just like LeBron James , a shadow of a living legend - Michael Jordan. And now LeBron is that shadow of Kobe. At some point LeBron will surpass Kobe and there will be another young player just like him how will follow his steps.
P.S. What happens in a star's private live is not my (our) concern.

Boston would have won again this year if KG was not injured.
