Fallout 3 on Lookout DLC June 23

E3 2009: Fourth content pack for postapocalyptic RPG adds high-level challenges in new swampland area.

LOS ANGELES--Bethesda Softworks will get another chance at a smooth downloadable content launch for Fallout 3 later this month: the publisher of the open-world postapocalyptic role-playing game has confirmed a June 23 release for Point Lookout on the Xbox 360 and PC. A PlayStation 3 edition will follow, once Sony's console begins receiving the expansions on a staggered schedule later this month. Earlier this year, the publisher's Broken Steel and The Pitt add-ons had to be recalled and rereleased due to technical difficulties.

Point Lookout will take players to a new corner of the Fallout world, a sprawling swampland populated with new mutants, allies, and weapons. Even though Point Lookout won't raise the game's level cap, it is intended to be significantly challenging even for high-level players. As a reward, players will be granted new perks for completing some of the expansion's new quests.

Point Lookout won't be the last addition to the Fallout world. A fifth, alien-abduction-themed DLC pack, Mothership Zeta, was announced with a late July time frame. For gamers who have yet to embrace digital distribution, all five content add-ons will be included in the retail release of Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, due out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in October.

    @ArticRecon, It would be nice if they could do that, actually no.. It would be downright Epic. But its not quite that easy to incorporate multiplayer in a game that was built around single player lol.

    PBN, there defin needs to be a Fable two type element where you can pair up or something... Some say it may detract from the "lonely" feel to it, but there ARE other ppl in the game world, your not completely alone. Just as you have a canine partner, what would be the difference in having a human one?

    Point lookout is more difficult but game feels like it could have more. During the whole DLC, wandering alone through swampland and deserted boardwalk town and the only enemies you encounter are mirelurks (not new), trackers, scrappers, and tribals all of which have the same guns. One is new, but is just like the hunting rifle. But hopefully Mothership Zeta DLC will have a little bit more.

    @Masterhalo43:
    Are you 13 years old? You shouldn't even be playing Fallout 3. Second, if someone doesn't know the facts, it doesn't make them a noob. It would be a bit "nicer" to fill them in on the facts without directly insulting them. But, thanks for being the typical a-hole that represents a majority of the population.

    On topic, I wish Fallout 3 was more user mod friendly like Oblivion. There would be so many possibilities. Although the DLC isn't as engrossing as the main game, I still have been enjoying all of them.

    I downloaded this yesterday and played it for about 2hrs... It's a headache... It def raised the difficulty... To high... I have all the best weapons in the game and I don't know if the point is that you have to use the guns from the add-on but WTF my guns barely do any damage?! the first enemy I fought were a bunch of wild dogs went down one hit each with the blackhawk and tri-beam laser. Then I fought two reapers and it took about three clips from the blackhawk to kill one of them and two reloads from the a151b (plasma rifle) to kill the other...18shots of bh and 24shots of A51p whatever and allshots hit both targets...plus I noticed they were doin ridiculous amounts of damage to me (I was wearing enclave power armor with it at full h. As well as both guns being at full hp...the tribals that I faced later were the same to even as far as taking 5-6shots of direct fire from a missile launcher(80% hp) and my stats for small guns energy weapons and big guns are all at 90 or higher...so WTF ...I mean the challenge was nice considering I've been one to two hit killing most everyone else(I have all plus criticals in vats as well as bonus ap and the bonus from ledoux hockey mask) but it's dumb when certain high critical weapons in vats with all the aforementioned perks in sneak don't kill an npc with one hit...might not be worth getting if your spent
